Journal Entry #4

Buffy is still being rather elusive. I’m not exactly sure what’s going on with her, but unless it’s to annoy Wesley, she avoids me completely. I’ve left several messages with her mother and I’ve yet to hear back from her. I wouldn’t be quite so concerned if it was only me she was avoiding, that’s a fairly common occurrence, but both Xander and Willow have expressed discontent with the amount of time Buffy is spending with Faith.

I feel it is time for an intervention. Must go now, Wesley is entering my office, no doubt to tell me exactly where I went wrong in my duties as watcher. This is going to be a long night.

Entry #3

It’s been rather hectic this last week. We had a vacation last week at the school, so everyone was off doing their own thing. Since, we’ve been back in I’ve had few visitors to the library. I can only assume that Willow is spending time with Oz, they’ve been rather inseparable since their recent reconciliation. I haven’t the slightest idea where Xander has been, but he does pop his head into the library occasionally to see if I need any help.

The biggest mystery is Buffy. She seems to be spending an awful lot of time with Faith. Normally I wouldn’t mind this, I did ask them to patrol together. However, over the last couple weeks Buffy has barely said two words to me, and despite my numerous requests, she hasn’t been checking in after patrol.

I trust Buffy implicitly, but I can’t help but feel that everything is spiraling rapidly out of control. I had hoped that Buffy would be a positive influence on Faith, but I fear Faith’s negative influence on Buffy may be greater. I suppose only time will tell.

I was also informed, by the council, that Buffy and Faith’s new Watcher would be arriving in town soon. Some chap named Wesley Wyndam-Pryce. Should be interesting to see what Buffy makes of him, I hear he’s quite a pompous git. Those were the exact adjectives used by my source in the council. Until then, it looks like I’ll be stuck wandering the stacks alone, as per usual.

Journal Entry #2

It’s been relatively quiet on the Hellmouth the last couple of days. My wrist, while not a hundred percent healed, is quite a bit better. It’s a lot more mobile than a few days ago, I can type with no problems. It only seems to bother me when I put any sort of weight on it. Unfortunately, this also means that it’s near impossible for me to train with Buffy. I’ve been having her and Faith oppose each other. Which has it’s own problems. They have a tendency to show each other up or use flashier maneuvers. I haven’t the foggiest idea why. That may possibly be why there’s only ever been one, their bloody egos can’t fit in the same dimension.

However, they have gone on patrol together these last few nights. Nothing special, according to Buffy. She’s kept a rather inadequate record of her kills, so I have no way to confirm that. There haven’t been any new injuries, so whatever is going on isn’t causing her too much trouble. She said it’s been all vampires. She did say, though, that there was more vampiric activity as of late. This could mean there’s a new vampire gang in town or possibly one vampire siring a lot of new ones. I forgot to ask if they were fresh from the grave or not. Oh well, it can wait until morning, I suppose. Once my wrist is healed I may accompany them on one of their patrols, so I can get an accurate kill count and locations, so I can keep better track of any patterns that may emerge.

Journal Entry #1

I usually prefer to do this sort of thing with a pen and notebook, however Willow has suggested that it might be easier to write my journal online, because it will be easier to reference in the future. This way I’ll also be able to add pictures of the demons. So, I’ll start this particular journal with our most recent brush with the apocalypse.

It all started about 5 days ago, when I received a fairly ambiguous tip about a possible vampire nest, in some caves on the outskirts of town. So I rallied the troops, or more accurately, Buffy, Faith, Willow, and Xander, and we headed to the caves just after sunset; leaving Cordelia to watch over Oz, as it was the night before the full moon.

Imagine our surprise when we showed up at the cave to find, not vampires, but a different sort of demon. Buffy described them as looking like trekkies who jumped into a pool of blue berry blast kool aid. I’m not a hundred percent certain as to what that means, but they were kind of blue with pointed ears. Like this:

These particular demons were also very strong. Stronger, in fact, than a single slayer. It took a great deal to kill them,  however they were handily dispatched by a single sword thrust to the chest. As shown below:

Overall I would call this night a success. The only one injured was Xander, and he scraped by with just a mild concussion. However, due to said injury, I feel it best if he doesn’t come along on these excursions anymore.

After a mass amount of research and very little sleep, we discovered that the demons were in fact a race of demons known as the Sisterhood of Jhe. Their entire reason for being, to bring about the end of the world. Needless to say, this did not bode well for the quiet weekend Buffy had been hoping for.

So after a bit more research, and a doughnut run from Xander, we learned absolutely nothing else. So Buffy hit the local demon bar, and asked the bartender, known as ‘Willie the Snitch’ if he knew anything. It turns out the Sisterhood had been there, when Buffy found Willie he was injured quite badly. However, she did learn that the Sisterhood of Jhe were planning to open the Hellmouth that night.

At the same time, I was at one of the many local cemeteries asking the spirit guides for their help. However, the spirit guides not really being an entity of this world, they don’t really care whether or not the apocalypse happens. I also sent Willow to one of the local magic shops to gather supplies for a spell I would cast to close the Hellmouth.

During this time, Faith encountered one of the Sisterhood whilst on patrol. She was unable to slay it, however Xander did show up and run it over with his car. Unfortunately the demon seemed to be uninjured, and only slightly startled, by this.

By the time we all returned to the library, Buffy with Angel in tow, it was too late to stop the Sisterhood of Jhe from opening the Hellmouth. The opening of which would unleash a very ferocious demon. See picture below:

I knew that we would be unable to kill this demon. The only chance we had at surviving was my spell to close the Hellmouth. It’s quite a risky spell though. One must be close enough to the Hellmouth to toss in a substance, that had been crushed into a fine powder. I knew that in order to throw it with any accuracy, I needed to be within just a couple feet of the Hellmouth’s opening, which would put me in definite striking distance of the demon.

So while Buffy and Angel attempted to distract the demon’s many heads, I got to work on casting the spell. Angel was knocked unconscious rather quickly, and the appendage he had been battling struck my left wrist rather badly, before another of it’s tentacle-like appendages struck me in the head. That is the moment when it decided to attack Buffy, by picking her up and tossing her across the room by her right arm, dislocating her shoulder. I knew I had to act. I had Willow toss me a sword, and as I said the incantation, I jumped on the beast’s body/back and stabbed it through one of its 5 hearts. This was enough to injured the demon and cause it to retract back into the Hellmouth, unfortunately, it was not enough to kill it. However, my spell was successful in closing the Hellmouth, so I shan’t worry about the demon for the time being.

So the world still turns. The injuries, while painful were not too severe. Buffy’s dislocated arm healed rather quickly, and the bruising was gone by the next afternoon. Willow only had minor bruises, which should be healed in a few days time. Angel was out for only a few moments, though everyone made a bigger deal about it than it was. He’s a vampire, getting struck in the head won’t kill him. With a sprained wrist, slight bruising, and a few lacerations on my face I suffered the most damage, but it should be healed by the end of next week. Until then, I will probably spend a great deal of time yelling at this blasted machine, as I try to learn how to type using only my left hand. The hunt and peck, I think is what they called it, is rather slow already; using that same method with only a single hand to work with is significantly more-so. The pictures below will catalog our injuries:

Buffy: Bruising over her left eye and dislocated shoulder

Willow: Bruising on her lower left cheek

Myself: Sprained wrist, bruising on my right cheek, and lacerations extending from my left cheek to left ear and a bit on my neck as well

That concludes my journal entry in regards to this battle against the Sisterhood of Jhe.

Until next time,
